Octans

Octans: A faint constellation in the deep Southern Sky, named after the octant, a navigational instrument.
History: Created by French astronomer Nicolas Louis de Lacaille in 1752, along with 13 other constellations that symbolised the Age of Enlightenment.
Stars: Contains the current and future southern pole stars of Earth and Saturn, as well as some variable stars and star systems with planets.
Deep sky objects: Includes some barred spiral galaxies and a sparse open cluster.
