Piscis Australis: A constellation in the southern sky that represents a fish. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by Ptolemy and has only one bright star, Fomalhaut.
Fomalhaut: The 18th-brightest star in the night sky and the brightest star in Piscis Australis. It is a white main-sequence star with a circumstellar disk and a possible planet.
Other stars and planets: Piscis Australis contains several other stars of varying brightness and color, some of which have exoplanets orbiting them. The brightest red dwarf star in the night sky, Lacaille 9352, is also in this constellation.
Other objects: Piscis Australis also hosts some galaxies, such as NGC 7172 and NGC 7314, and a blazar, PKS 2155-304, which is one of the brightest sources of gamma rays in the sky.
